Watson Gomes serves as a Social Science Instructor at the Community College of Aurora, teaches Social Studies and Financial Literacy at Rocky Mountain Prep RISE High School, and is also a youth coach for Colorado Rapids. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Graduate Center of New York, NY, where he was a Student Council Representative, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Methodist University.
As a devoted father, husband, and educator, Watson is committed to public service and human rights. With a wealth of experience as both a college instructor and high school teacher, he has dedicated his career to empowering students and strengthening connections between classrooms and their communities.
In his role as a Community Outreach advocate and Colorado Rapids Coach, Watson emphasizes the significance of teamwork, mentorship, and creating inclusive opportunities. His dedication to education and equity was recognized in 2010 when he received the Prize of Education in Human Rights from Methodist University.
Currently, Watson is campaigning for a position on the Aurora City Council, aiming to provide experienced, values-driven leadership for the city. He envisions a more connected, transparent, and compassionate Aurora where every voice is valued and every neighborhood can thrive.
